I was pleasantly surprised by the spa at Ab Hotel. The traditional Japanese style and the small outdoor o-furo bath made it a unique and relaxing experience. The hotel also had convenient facilities like laundry facilities and drink vending machines. The room I stayed in was comfortable and spacious, perfect for two people with a lot of luggage. I highly recommend Ab Hotel Kyoto Shijo Horikawa for a pleasant stay in Kyoto.

I especially appreciated the attention to detail, like the well-placed plug points that allowed me to charge my devices while using them. Lastly, the breakfast provided was simple but perfect, with a variety of options including croissants, fresh fruit, and traditional Japanese fare. It was a great way to start the day!

Great value, good location and helpful staff. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are cleaned every day. The hot spa is a great way to end the day and there are vending machines for drinks, a microwave and even a coin laundry. The best part was the cleaning person who folded my clothes after cleaning them.

The breakfast was very limited and not to my European taste. The only option was a typical Japanese breakfast buffet.

The location was mind-blowing, just 1 bus away from attractions. Breakfast offered a SUPER variety of options. The traditional spa experience was jaw-dropping.
